Thermofogging Has Arrived! Sep 2005
Thermofogging has finally arrived in Washington…
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the state of Washington recently granted their respective registrations for Xedamine A, the thermofogging formulation of DPA.
Packers have been waiting for thermofogging for years in anticipation of removing drenching from their programs. A few of the key benefits of thermofogging are:
No solution to discharge alleviates environmental hazards and concerns.
Not reusing the same contaminated solution will improve decay control measures.
Truck turn around time is drastically reduced by not waiting in line for the drencher.
Thermofogging makes a second DPA application possible. Second DPA applications have proven very effective in further reducing scald on Granny Smith apples.
Pace is introducing thermofogging on a limited basis this season and plans to treat approximately 50 storage rooms in Washington State.
To learn more about thermofogging and the benefits it provides, please contact Todd Hankins, Product Manager for more information.
